Guidance for your music budget

WHAT DOES A LIVE BAND COST?HOW TO COMPARE QUOTES.

Band size, performance time, equipment and travel: comparing live band prices requires a clear scope of services. These questions help you plan your budget.

Compare the included services first

THE PRICE ALONEDOES NOT TELL THE WHOLE STORY.

Two quotes can look different because they include different services. First check how many musicians will perform, which live performance time is agreed and whether other musical stages are included.

Distinguish live performance time, attendance time and the DJ period. Pink Panta’s party band starts with three 45-minute live sets. The optional DJ package starts with seven hours, usually including the band sets.

Include these items in your comparison

THE SAME QUESTIONS.A CLEARER PICTURE.

Place quotes side by side and check the same items. If anything is unclear, ask before assuming it is included.

An equipment price may include the audio system, lighting, support, setup and dismantling, or only some of these. Travel, possible overnight stays and extra performance time should also be identifiable.

Line-up: how many musicians and which agreed roles?

Performance time: how many sets, how long and within which period?

Musical stages: consider reception, dinner, party and DJ separately.

Equipment: are audio, lighting, stage equipment and technical support included?

Logistics: are setup, dismantling, travel and possible overnight stays clear?

Pricing: gross or net, complete total or base price?

Additional services: what is optional and how is it agreed?

Plan your budget around your priorities

WHAT MATTERS MOSTFOR YOUR EVENING?

Consider which musical moments matter most to you. Should the band mainly carry the evening party? Would you also like live music at the reception? Is a DJ important for the rest of the evening?

These priorities help you formulate a more precise enquiry. Include your budget range too. We can then assess which combination suits your wishes and venue.

These details make your quote more specific

Frequently asked questions

GOOD TO KNOW.
BEFORE YOU PLAN.

Why do live band prices differ?

A useful comparison considers the line-up, performance time, additional musical services, equipment, support and travel. Two totals alone tell you little unless the scope is the same.

Is extra performance time always included in the quote?

The written agreement is decisive. Check the number and length of sets and the overall period. Additional live time or DJ extensions must be explicitly agreed.
